Ever since my grandfather,
Anselmo Soto, was a boy, he loved the game of
baseball. That love would lead him to the craft
of Glove making, where he learned much while working
in Mexico City for eight years at a well known
baseball glove company.
Then, in 1964, with not
much more than a single sewing machine, a few
tools and his dream, my Grandfather started the
Soto Glove Company. After many years of very hard
work, Soto Glove became an established Brand Name
in Mexico. The concept that a person could actually
pick the style, leather color, web, size and have
their name embbroidered on the glove was way ahead
of the big mass porducers at the time, and still
is today.
My grandfather had a passion
for what he did and that same thing has been passed
to the next generations of Soto's. His sons made
a promise to their father that they would continue
the tradition and quality that he bagan years
ago, and I , Marco Soto, have now made that same
promise.
We have taken my grandfather's
dream and now have brought to the American market
a quality, custom made to order baseball glove
that is afordable. Even in the "New Millemium"
it is good to know that some good "Old World"
craftsmanship is still alive and available to
that young player with dreams of his own.
I know in my heart that
my grandfather would be very proud to see where
his own dream has grown.
